Link between clove cigarettes and urticaria?

Description

A patient of mine has had unrelenting urticaria for 7 weeks, along with occasional tightness in the throat and chest. Corticosteroid and antihistamine therapies have been ineffective. Nothing in her environment has changed, and although she is a busy college student, she does not feel any particular stress or anxiety. However, she does report having smoked clove cigarettes (60% tobacco and 40% cloves) for more than a year, and she continues to smoke them. Could they be the source of the problem?
